Van Nuys News, Van Nuys, California, Friday, August 3, 1923, Page 4, Col. 2: Father of Mrs. W. A. Ward Passes Away In L. B. J. B. Teel, father of Mrs. Warren A. Ward, of Van Nuys, passed away at his home in Long Beach, Sunday morning, July 29, after an illness of several months. Mr. Teel has been a resident of Southern California for the past 54 years, having come here with his parents when he was 14 years of age. The services were conducted form [from] the Patterson and McQuilkin funeral parlors, Long Beach, Tuesday by Reverand J. F. G. Finley. Burial took place at Santa Ana. Besides his wife, Lizzie [Kezzie] Kirkpatrick Teel, he is survived by 6 sons and 3 daughters. Mrs. Will Guthridge, of Perris, Mrs. C. C. Venable, of Long Beach, Mrs. Warren A. Ward, of Van Nuys. The sons' names are Ben, John, Clay, Howard, Gilbert, and Irving, and most of them are living at Long Beach.
