Brook Parkinson, 62, died at his home southwest of Sesser Wednesday. Funeral services for Mr. Parkinson will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Brayfield Funeral Home in Sesser. The Rev. Floyd Hartley will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday. Mr. Parkinson was born Mar. 13, 1907, the son of Noel and Mable Hubbard Parkinson. He was married 44 years ago to Marie Kirkpatrick, who survives. He was a member of the Bear Point Baptist church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Parkinson is survived by two daughters, Aline Bays of Sesser and Maretta Williams of Benton; four sons, Warren, Grays Lake, Ill., Ray, Ocean Springs, Miss., and Noel and Daniel, Sesser; one brother, Carl, Mulkeytown; two sisters, Marie Smith of Carbondale and Louise Mottar, Edwardsville; a half sister, Lou Ella McFarland, Rolla, Mo.; five half brothers, Donald Dillon, St. Louis, James Dillon, Decatur, William and Thomas Dillon, Caseyville, and Fred Dillon, Tuscola; and 22 grandchildren.
