Cedar Rapids Gazette, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, July 6, 1989, Page 10: Caroline Davis Fairley, 81, of Altamont, Ill., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday in Lutheran Care Center, Altamont, following a brief illness. Born March 13, 1908, at Cedar Rapids, she married Frank Fairley Aug. 22, 1939, at Nashua. He died in 1971. A graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, Mrs. Fairley was a nurse at St. Luke's before moving to Altamont in 1974. Surviving are two sons, Dallas of Altamont and Jack of Marion; a daughter, Virginia Lary of DeKalb, Ill.; a sister, Ruth Erland of Port Byron, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. today, Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, Ill. Burial: Arborcrest Cemetery, rural Effingham, Ill.
