Burlington Hawk Eye, Burlington, Iowa, Sunday, December 4, 1960, Page 3, Col. 8: Mt. Pleasant---Mrs. Ethel Hodson, 83, died in the Kennedy Nursing home Friday after an extended illness. The daughter of John B. and Cynthia Beard, Mendenhall, she was born Feb. 24, 1877, in Henry county. On Oct. 23, 1906, she married Robert L. (Len) Hodson who died in 1953. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Fred Brown, a brother, Perry Mendenhall, both of Mt. Pleasant and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the R. K. Crane Funeral home with Dr. E. A. Mathews officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.
