Mount Pleasant News, Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Saturday, September 26, 1953, Page 2, Col. 4: Robert Lemmon Hodson, son of Zachariah L. and Margaret A. Hodson was born June 2, 1873 [1872] at Salem, Iowa. He passed away September 23, 1953. He was married Oct. 23, 1906 to Ethel M. Mendenhall. Besides his wife he is survived by one brother, T. A. Hodson of Gothenburg, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews. During his active years on the farm two and on half miles southwest of Mt. Pleasant, he was a helpful neighbor. He always appreciated the assistance given by the neighbors whenever the need arose. Lem was respected and loved by his many friends. He was interested in the happenings of the times and had read the daily papers the day he was taken ill. Although he was an invalid for the past three years every day was made as pleasant as possible by the constant, loving care of his wife Ethel.
