On the 1930 Census she is in the same place but alone. In the 1920 and 1930 censuses she is doing alterations in a department store or ready to wear. She is still listed with the last name Geary and single.

Mildred S. Geary married Nicholas H. Hoopengarner on 30 October 1901 at Crawford Co., Kansas.
One World Tree by Ancestry.com shows a child born to Mildred and Nicholas Hoopengarner. Sarah Geneva Hoopengarner was born 15 Nov. 1902 and died 21 April 1904 at Pittsburg, Crawford Co., Kansas. There is also a death entry on FamilySearch.com in Kansas Deaths for the child.

Tracing Nicholas H. Hoopengarner or Hoopingarner is confusing.

Nicholas has a marriage license dated 19 Nov. 1902 at Kansas City, Jackson Co., Missouri to Margaret Newman.They appear together on the 1910 and 1920 censuses. On the 1920 census they have a son Brock, age 8. Nicholas is in the St. Joseph Missouri State Hospital #2 in the 1930 census. It was a lunatic asylum or hospital for the insane. Missouri death certificate shows Nicholas died at that hospital February 4, 1944. He had been there for 18 years, 10 months. and 16 days. His wife's address is Dallas, Texas. He was going to be buried at Parsons, Kansas. An obituary from a Dallas newspaper dated August 20,1959 states Margaret died in Springfield, Missouri. Her death certificate from Missouri verifies her spouse was Nicholas Hoopingarner, deceased. Informant was their son B. J. Hoopingarner of Dallas, Texas. Burial of Margaret was Calvary Cemetery, Parsons, Kansas.
