Kenneth L. Kirkpatrick

Kenneth L. Kirkpatrick, 63, Ozark, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2006, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was born March 14, 1943, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Max Franklin and Dorothy Katherine (Crowder) Kirkpatrick. On March 21, 1964, Ken was united in marriage to Mary Wood and to this union three children were born. Ken was employed at General Electric in Iowa for 27 years, after moving to Ozark in 1988, he worked for Fasco Industries until the company closed. Ken was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, skeet and trap shooting and especially favored duck hunting. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Ozark Shooters Sport Complex and also attended First Baptist Church of Ozark. Ken was a loving husband, terrific dad and the light of his life were his precious grandchildren. Preceding Ken in death were his parents and sister-in-law Nancy Kirkpatrick. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Mary, children Dallas and Mary Ann Kirkpatrick, of Fremont Hills, Dawn Kirkpatrick and Mike of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Darcy Cawood and Steve of Bella Vista, Arkansas, one brother Robert Kirkpatrick of Lincoln, Nebraska, nine grandchildren Garrett, Joshua, Jon, David, Alex, Katie, Jacob, Elizabeth, and Asher; two nieces, Trisha and Kathy; two nephews, Robert and Mark several other relatives and caring friends. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m.. Saturday, July 15, 2006, in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa. Springfield News-Leader, July 11, 2006.
