James Rufus Walston

The Colville Examiner, Colville, Washington, Saturday, March 6, 1909, Page 4, Col. 5: James Rufus Walston passed away at the Harvey hospital in this city Tuesday afternoon at about one o'clock, after an illness of about a month, the ailment being Bright's disease. The deceased was born August 22, 1867, at Algona, Iowa. On October 28, 1891, he was married to Miss Belle Howell. He came to Meyers Falls in 1901 and purchased the ranch upon which his family is now living, and which is located at Greenwood, south of Meyers Falls. He was one of the commissioners of drainage district No. 2, and was a member of the M. W. A., I. O. O. F., and K. P. The funeral was conducted Thursday afternoon from the Congregational church here, and interment was in the Evergreen cemetery. The ceremonies were under the auspices of the M. W. A., and a large number of members of that organization were here from Meyers Falls to attend. The Colville lodge of M. W. A. also attended in force. The deceased leaves his wife, one son, three daughters, and two brothers, Frank and Eugene, all of Meyers Falls, and relatives in Iowa, his native state.
