Etta Triplett

Mount Pleasant Daily News, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Tuesday, April 27, 1920: Mrs. John J. Dilts. The death of Mrs. John J. Dilts, wife of Dr. J. J. Dilts, the well known physician of Salem, came as a great shock to her many friends and relatives here and in other part of the country. She had undergone a surgical operation in Chicago and was apparently on the road to rapid recovery when word was flashed over the wires to her family that her death was imminent. She passed away on Thursday, April 22, 1920. She was a daughter of Milton and Cynthia (Banta) Triplett, her maiden name being Etta Triplett, and was born in Salem, Iowa, September 28, 1868. September 25, 1888 she and Dr. John J. Dilts were united in marriage. Those left to mourn of her immediate relatives are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Winnifred Dilts Becker, Salem, her aged father, who resides in Salem, one brother, Mrs. Bert Triplett, Eaton, Colorado, and one sister, Mrs. Robert F. Pierce of Salem. Many warm friends also survive.

Deceased was a woman well known and beloved by those who for years had been her kindred and acquaintances. Fifteen years of the life had been spent in Primrose, Iowa. The rest of it was lived in her native place. She was a believer in Jesus Christ. The influences of her life as daughter, wife, mother, sister, friend and neighbor were helpful and enduring.

Funeral services conducted by Frank E. Weston, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant, were held on Saturday at eleven-thirty. Many were in attendance. The floral expressions of love were beautiful and fragrant. The pallbearers were O. H. Tyner, C. H. Cook, F. E. Becker, Walter Shriner, Charles Mogel and dr. C. D. Rawhauser. Interment was in the east cemetery of Salem.
