Mrs. Leona Pearl McGowen aged 70, died at the home of her daughter, 527 Maple, at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon after being ill some two years. She had resided here all her life. She as born March 20, 1887 in Butler county and was married to Joe McGowen on Feb. 20, 1903. She was a member of Hobbs chapel church 44 years. She leaves her husband and the following children: Mrs. Orpha Cocran of Fisk; Dulsie Warbington, Royal Oak, Mich., Juanita Johnson of Fisk, Clois McGowen of Hemit, Calif., Norman McGowen of Montpelier, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one brother, Artis Ham of Dudley. Funeral services were at the Presbyterian church in Fisk at 2 Friday afternoon with burial in Hobbs chapel cemetery. White of Fisk, service.
