The American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Monday Evening, December 31, 1928, Front Page, Col. 3: Rombauer Woman Called In Death. Myrtle Brown, aged 25, of Rombauer, wife of Dewey Brown, died at 1:30 Saturday afternoon after a short illness. Funeral rites were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Surviving are her husband and four children, her father, George Ham of Rombauer and a number of other relatives. Interment was in Rombauer Cemetery, the Rev. Freeman officiating and the Phelps undertaking company in charge.
