William J. Ham

Obituary from Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Monday, March 10, 1941. Rev. W. J. Hamm Dies at Age 90. The Rev. W. J. Hamm, veteran Primitive Baptist minister, farmer and merchant in the Rombauer community, died at the home of his son, Lige Hamm, at Rombauer at 7:10 a.m. Today. He had been in ill health for several years and had been unable to carry on as a minister or do any other work for some time. Mr. Hamm was born Sept. 16, 1850. He had resided in the Rombauer community most of his life and for several years operated a store there. Surviving are the following: the son, two daughters, Mr. Bell Risinger of Fisk and Mrs. Zada Carter of Poplar Bluff, a brother Geroge Hamm, and sister, Lucy Buchanan on Rombauer. His wife died several years ago. Funeral services will be held at the Rombauer church at 2 p.m. Tuesday with burial to follow in Rombauer cemetery.
