Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Thursday, September 26, 1929, Page 3, Col. 5: Mrs. S. Chronister, Aged 67, Succumbs. Mrs. Sallie Chronister, 67, well known resident of Butler county died at the home of her son, D. A. Chronister, 5 miles west of Rombauer at 8:20 yesterday evening. Mrs. Chronister has been a resident of the Rombauer section for more than 50 years and was one of its best known and highly respected residents. Her husband, D. M. [W.] Chronister, who preceded her in death more than a year ago, was one of the pioneer settler of the county Surviving her are two sons, S. A. Chronister of Poplar Bluff and D. A. [J. D.] Chronister of near Rombauer, and two daughters, Mrs. Hannah Moore and Miss Leona Chronister, both of the Rombauer settlement. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at Hamtown Cemetery with the Rev. William Smelser in charge.
