Lindsey, 70, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at his residence. Mr. Lindsey was born Jan. 26, 1929, at Fort Smith, Ark. He had been a resident of Van Buren for 28 years, moving here from Pontiac, Mich. He was a retired auto worker for the GM plant in Pontiac and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed horseback riding and doing body work on cars. On Feb. 3, 1950, he married Louella Elkins at Pontiac. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, William Michael Lindsey of Commerce Township, Mich., and Jeffrey David Lindsey of Van Buren; a daughter, Katy Marlene Taylor of Waterford, Mich.; one brother, Dan Lindsey of Romance, Ark.; eight sisters, Sybil Fuller of la Puente, Calif., Geneva Jacqueline Hopper of Mtn. Home, Ark., Marilyn Gaither of Quitman, Ark., Carolyn Mattison of Pangburn, Ark., Phyllis Ann Imset of Searcy, Ark., Katie Latimer of McRae, Ark., Kathy Metz of Little Rock, Ark., and Sharon Lindsey; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church in Van Buren with the Rev. Bruce Hawkins officiating. Burial was in the Poca Hollow/Dry Valley cemetery west of Van Buren under the direction of McSpadden Funeral Home of Van Buren.
