She had attained the age of eighty-two years, one month and twenty-seven days. On February 3, 1950, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Bill Lindsey, in Pontiac, Mich. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2000. She had many fond memories of the time they shared and never tired of telling stories of their life together.

Mrs. Lindsey had lived in Van Buren, Mo. since 1971. She was a faithful member of the Van Buren Assembly of God church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and frequently led the singing and sang specials. Lou had also owned and operated the Van Buren Florist, was an EMT and served on the Carter County Ambulance Board, as substitute bus driver for the State school in Doniphan and taught Home Head Start. There was never a dull moment when Lou was around. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit. Lou enjoyed going to church, horseback riding, spending time with friends and family, reading mysteries and westerns, watching detective shows on television, and painting. When asked how she was, she always replied with a grin, "lovely and charming". Mrs. Lindsey is survived by three children: Mike Lindsey and wife Cathy of Commerce Township, Mich., Katy Taylor and husband Rudy of Waterford, Mich. and Jeff Lindsey and wife of Angela of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.

She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who mourn her passing.
