St. James Leader Journal, St. James, Missouri, Wednesday, September 7, 2011: Ida V.* Kirkpatrick, of St. James, passed away on Aug. 31, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in St. James. She was 89 years, 30 days and one month of age. Ida Kirkpatrick was born on July 1, 1922, in Safe, to her parents, Samuel Edward and Thelma Inez Underwood. Known as Ida Underwood, she was united in marriage to Elmer Kirkpatrick on Sept. 25, 1942, in Vienna. He entered into rest Jan. 29, 1998. Ida Kirkpatrick is survived by two daughters: Martha Hodge and husband Danny of St. James; Helen Kirkpatrick of St. James. One son: Wayne Kirkpatrick and wife Darcas of New Paris, Ohio; Two brothers: Monroe Underwood of Oak Grove, and Leland Underwood of St. James. She also is survived by three grandchildren, three great-granchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Ida Kirkpatrick was in state at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James. from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3. Services were conducted 2 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 4, 2011, with Aaron Jeffers officiating. Burial was in the St. James Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the St. James Christian Church. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, www.jones-funerals.com.
