Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Barnett Chapel, Oskaloosa, Kan. The family suggests contributions to charity. Mrs. Cassidy was a lifelong area resident. She worked at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in World War II. She was a member of the Oakland Park Baptist Church. She was past president of the Ladies Society of the Rocket Lodge of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen. Her husband, Edward H. Cassidy, died in 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Helen M. Atkinson, Kansas City, Kan.; a sister, Alice McCool, Piper in Wyandotte County; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.

The Rev. Don Phillips of Shawnee Full Gospel Church will officiate. Mrs. Cassidy died Monday, May 2, 1994, at Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. She was born Nov. 9, 1919, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of James and Martha Barnett Clason. She grew up and attended public schools there. During World War II she was a munitions worker at Lake City, Mo. She was a member of Oakland Park Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher at Central Methodist Church for many years. She also was past president of the Ladies Society of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen, and Enginemen Rocket Lodge No. 695, all in Kansas City. She married Edward H. Cassidy in 1943 at Kansas City, Kan. He died March 14, 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Helen M. Atkinson, Kansas City, Kan.; a sister, Alice McCool, Piper; a granddaughter and a great-grandson. A grandson, Roy Shoemaker, died April 8, 1984. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, where the family will meet with friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The family suggests memorial contributions to the donors' choice and may be left in care of the funeral home.
