Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, June 29, 1977: Piedmont--Fred S. Kime, Sr., 51, of 123 N. Fourth St., died of an apparent heart attack Monday evening at his home. Mr. Kime, a heavy equipment operator, was born Nov. 29, 1925, at Chaonia. On May 22, 1948, he married Betty Kirkpatrick. he was of the Jehovah's Witnesses faith. Mr. Kime was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his widow; five sons, Fred Kime Jr., Barry Kime, Kevin Kime and Grant Kime, all of Piedmont, and Dennis Kime serving in the U. S. Air Force in Mississippi; one daughter, Mrs. Sheri Franklin of St. Louis; four brothers.Ivan Kime of Decatur, Ill, Carl Kime and Dellus Kime of Poplar Bluff, and Horace Kime of Ashton, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Pauline McDowell of De Soto, Mrs. Irene Vergonet of Roseville, Calif.; Mrs. Ruth Perry of Mount Morris, Mich., and Mrs. Zella Medlock of St. Louis; and one grandchild. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday in Gish-Bowles and Coder Funeral Home in Piedmont. Michael P. King will be in charge of services. Visitation is under way.
