Service will be Thursday, June 13, 2019, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska with Rev. Jeffrey Kuddes officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska. Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
Ruby was born on November 30, 1926 to Frederick and Adeline (Parks) Mohlman in Rural Ayr, Nebraska. She received her education at District 51 near Ayr and graduated from Blue Hill Community High School in 1945. On August 2, 1945 she was united in marriage to Wendel D. Stevens in Blue Hill. To this union five children were born; Patrick, Linda, Jeffrey, Marilyn and Timothy. They lived on farms at Eden, Idaho, Red Cloud, Nebraska and returned to Blue Hill in 1965.
Ruby was very active in church and her community. She belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide, assisted with Sunday and Bible School, member of American Legion Post #176 Auxiliary, meals on wheels and transportation services in Blue Hill. She was administrative assistant at Blue Hill Care Center and was an Avon Representative and then retired as the Director from Westgate Housing Authority, Blue Hill, Nebraska in 2001.
Ruby is survived by two Sons; Patrick (Joette) Stevens, Campbell, Nebraska, Jeffrey (Betty) Stevens, Buhl, Idaho, two daughters; Linda (Leslie) Branting, Tecumseh, Nebraska, Marilyn (Bruce) Gerloff, Ayr, Nebraska, one sister; Ella Mae Keeney, Hastings, Nebraska, one sister-in-law; Lois Mohlman, Blue Hill, Nebraska, thirteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; twelve step great grandchildren. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Timothy, great grandson; Vincent Stevens and siblings; Mary Kort, John Mohlman, Albert Mohlman, Margaret Hinrichs, Grace Eischen, Irma Bell, Fred Mohlman, George Mohlman, Robert Mohlman and Wilbur Mohlman.
