Palo Verde Valley Times, Blythe, California, October 9, 2002, Page 2, Col. 1: Catherine "Trinky" Brisco passed away Monday, October 7, 2002. She was 73. Catherine was born November 17, 1928 in San Louis Obispo, Ca. She was raised and attended school in San Luis Obispo. She married Vern Brisco on December 25, 1947. After a couple of earthquakes in Long Beach, Ca. they moved to Blythe in September 1952. She waitressed at the A-l Cafe in Ehrenberg for a couple of years (for you old timers). She then went to work for Bert Watts Photography until it's closing in the early 60's. Catherine then went to work for Palo Verde Valley, Times, where she did a bit of everything. In 1978 she went into business with her youngest son, Paul to start Brisco Printing and Photography. She semiretired in 18991 but still enjoyed the business and especially with buying and selling and trading her used books. She was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church for 48 years. She is survived by her sons and daughters in-law, Gale and Terry Brisco, Paul and Diane Brisco, daughter, Lorraine Barger, all of Blythe, sister and brothers in-laws; Beverly and Harley Kovall of Arroyo Grande, Ca., Irene and Olin Hudgens of San Luis Obispo, Ca. Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; several cousins and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Verne Brisco, on May 21, 2000. A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Friday, October 11 at 2 p.m. The family asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Cancer Society.
