The Flint Journal, Flint, Michigan, Monday, January 18, 1999: Granger, Cheryl L. (Bruner) - Age 45, of Linden, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 16, 1999. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, January 20, 1999 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Pastor David Boillat officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Gaines, MI. Visitation will be held 2-5 and 7-9 PM Monday and Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Cheryl L. (Bruner) Granger Memorial Scholarship Fund. Cheryl was born July 25, 1953 in Washington, IN, the daughter of William and Melba (Farrow) Bruner. Cheryl grew up in Gaines and graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1971. Cheryl also attended the Genesee Area Skill Center for two years studying Commercial Art. Cheryl married Terry E. Granger June 19, 1971 in Gaines. They had lived in Linden since 1984. Cheryl was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fenton and was actively involved in women's and children's ministries. Cheryl was an avid gardener and loved flowers as well as the variety of birds her garden and feeders attracted, especially hummingbirds. Surviving with cherished memories are: husband, Terry; daughter, Aimee and husband, Erik Boillat of Grand Rapids; parents, William and Melba Bruner of Gaines; sister, Colleen and husband, Thomas Sims of Linden; nephew, Chris Sims of Linden; and her cherished cats, Smokey and Thumbs. Cheryl touched many lives and will always be loved by those who knew her well.
