Bill Bruner devoted many years to researching the Bruner family who were descendants of the German immigrant, Joseph Bruner. Joseph Bruner's family settled in Frederick, Maryland, in the early 1700s and one of Joseph's sons, Elias, built the Schifferstadt House which is now a national museum. Bill compiled his extensive research and wrote a book entitled, "The Bruner Family" which contained details about Bill's line of descendants. His research made it possible for Bruners in the twentieth century to trace their ancestors back to Schifferstadt, Germany in the seventeenth century.
