Our Area News Service Belvidere--Private services for Maynard Bellard, 53, a former employee of Barber-Colman Co., Rockford, who was found dead at his rooming house here Monday night, will be Thursday in Chilson Funeral Home, Beloit, Wis. Burial will be in the Eastlawn Cemetery, Beloit. Friends may call in the funeral home tonight. Mr. Bellard apparently was the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot would, according to Boone County Corner Albert Wheeler. An inquest will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Boone County Courthouse.

Wheeler said Mr. Bellard, who left his job in Rockford in September because of poor health, was found by his landlady, Mrs. Eda Mae Vail, 319 W. 7th St., at about 4:30 p.m. Monday when she came home from work. Mr. Bellard was found on the dining room floor with a gunshot would in his forehead. He was clutching a .22 caliber rifle in his hands.

Survivors include a son, Robert, Beloit; a daughter, Mrs. Floyd Gibbon, Beloit; a brother, Don, and four sisters, Mrs. Ernest Rosenow, Mrs. Jack Kummerow, and Mrs. Wallace Boone, all of Beloit, and Mrs. Fred Werner, South Beloit.
