On the 1920 U. S. Census of U. S. Naval Forces at San Diego, California, Vincent C. Elliott, Seaman 2C, age 17 on the U.S.S. Renshaw appears. He lists his home address as 165 Bennett St., Dubuque, Iowa. [In 1910 this was the home of Joseph Grigg uncle of Maude Elliott].
On the 1930 U. S. Census of Rockford, Winnebago Co., Illinois, Vincent is a painting contactor with a wife and family.

Elliott, 45, of 1892 Grace street, died at 5:55 a.m. Saturday at Finley hospital after a year's illness. Friends may call at the Didesch funeral home, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Center Grove cemetery. Elliott was born June 10, 1902 in Dubuque and was a lifelong resident here.
He was the son of the late Byron and Mathilda Grigg Elliott and was married July 3, 1923, at Waterloo, Ia., to the former Mary Richey. A member of the Grandview Avenue Methodist church, he had been employed at Bradley's wallpaper and paint store and was affiliated with the painters and decorators local 693.
Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Juanita) Swanson of East Dubuque, Mrs. Jack (Ileen) Redmond, Shirley Maud and Judith Ann, all of Dubuque; a son, Pvt. Vincent Jerry Elliott, U. S. air force, Cheyenne, Wyo.; two grandsons, Robert V. Swanson of East Dubuque and Vincent J. Elliott, of Dubuque; and two brothers, Joseph G. Elliott, of Chicago, and K. W. Elliott, of Dubuque. He was preceded in death by parents and one sister.
