Allen Bellard was found on the 1880 Census in Lima, Grant County, Wisconsin at the age of 32, having stated that he was born in Ohio and that his father was born in Pennsylvania and mother born in Ohio. Allen is shown married to a Mary, whose age is given as 25 and born in Wisconsin. Mary states that her father was born in Vermont. There were five (5) children listed with them; Louis, age 8; Eugene, age 6; Nellie, age 4; Chauncey, age 2; and an un-named male child, age 1.

On the 1900 Census taken at the same location, the oldest son, Louis is not in the home but a new child, their sixth named Minerva at the age of 19. The unnamed male child is now named as Allen.
