Gothenburg Times, Gothenburg, Nebraska, January 21, 2015: Lois M. Lemmon, 96. She was an educator and local business owner. Lois M. Lemmon, 96, of Cozad, originally of Gothenburg, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital. Services took place on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the First Presbyterian Church in Cozad with the Rev. Jim Splitt officiating. Burial was at the Cozad Cemetery. Lemmon was born Oct. 22, 1918, at Gothenburg to Ernest and Ramona (Brestel) Haynes. She graduated from Gothenburg High School., then attended Kearney Teacher College, and taught at four different schools in the Cozad area. On Aug. 18, 1942, she married Dale Lemmon at Seward. The couple resided on a farm site northwest of Cozad known as Burwood Fruit Farm. The farm was established by her husband's grandfather and consisted of 2,500 fruit trees. While farming, Lemmon and her husband built and operated the Lemmon Mills, Inc., dehydrating mill at Willow Island. she continued teaching until she and her husband sold the mill and started Willow Island Land & Cattle, Inc., which they operated with their two sons. She had continued working at the business until the age of 93.

Lemmon was a member of the Fist Presbyterian Church of Cozad and past president of the Cozad DOES Drove No. 177. She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Ernest and Ramona Haynes; husband, Dale; her son, Brad; siblings--Milan Haynes, Stanley Haynes, June Hecox and Marilyn Pagel. Survivors include: Her son, Rick (Tamra) Lemmon of Cozad; daughter-in-law, Suzie (Charlie) Black of Cozad; granddaughter, Shannon Aubushon of Springview; grandson, Kevin Lemmon of Cozad; sister-in-law, Vivian Haynes of Gothenburg. Memorials are suggested to the Presbyterian Church of Cozad.
