The Hays Daily News, Hays, Kansas, Wednesday, September 11, 1996, Page 6, Cols. 2 & 3: Codell---Lawrence C. Hachmeister, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1996, at the Plainville Rural Hospital. He was born Aug. 9, 1916, in Osborne County to August and Ada (Hosier) Hachmeister. He grew up in the Natoma area. He married June Glendenning on July 27, 1939, near Codell. They lived at Natoma for a few years, moving to Codell in the early 1940's. A farmer and stockman, he was a member of the First Baptist Church, Codell. Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Bruce, Codell; three daughters, Jill Russell and Judy Doerfler, Codell, and City Uloho, Wichita, a brother, Everett, Natoma; a sister Lola Ring, Lincoln, Neb.; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Codell First Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Buss, officiating; private family graveside services and burial were today in the Shiloh Cemetery, near Codell. The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
