He is survived by his sister, Jeanne McArthur, New York City; four children, Ruth McArthur, San Francisco, CA, Philip McArthur, Cambridge, MA, Andrew McArthur, San Francisco, CA, and Sarah McArthur LeValley, San Rafael, CA; and four grandchildren.
