Ernestine Biby the eldest daughter of William A. Biby and his first wife Fannie, was born 8 November 1897 in Pinckneyville, Perry County, Illinois. Ernestine married Charles Edward McArthur in June 1924. His parents were William and Elizabeth (Todd) McArthur.

There were two (2) children born of the marriage.

Her survivors include a son, Charles E. McArthur, Kansas City; a daughter, Jeanne McArthur, New York City; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will be at Mount Washington Cemetery; a memorial concert will be sung by the choral Arts Ensemble at 3 p.m. Feb. 10 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Kansas City. the family suggests contributions to the rector's fund at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Kansas City, or to Planned Parenthood of Great Kansas City.
