Chattanooga Times Free Press, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Sunday, August 13, 2000: GATLINBURG---Robert G. Mitchell died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000. He was 73. Mr. Mitchell was a World War II Navy veteran and had worked from J.C. Penney for 33 years before retiring to Gatlinburg in 1986. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Hillary Ann Mitchell; and son, Robert Kirk Mitchell. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Mitchell; son, John Tracy Mitchell, Baton Rouge, La.; daughters, Nancy Akbarzadeh, Orlando, Fla., and Suzanne Compton, Alpharetta, Ga.; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Gatlinburg with Father Charles Livermore officiating. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
