Dr. Marjorie Ruth Kirkpatrick, who for the past year has been with the City-County Hospital in Fort Worth, joined her father and brother, Dr. B. A. and Dr. Roy Kirkpatrick, in medical practice in Taylor august 1, thus making the fourth member of the family to practice in this vicinity, her grandfather, the late Dr. S. B. Kirkpatrick, having practiced in Thrall for a number of years. Dr. Kirkpatrick went to Taylor to serve especially with women and children. She is a graduate of the Texas State College for Women and the University of Texas Medical School.

Services were July 20 at Marshall-Ramey Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Blackwell officiating. Graveside services were July 21 at Taylor Cemetery in Taylor.

She was born July 15, 1925, in Thrall to the late dr. and Mrs. B. A. Kirkpatrick. After earning her M.D. degree, she practiced in Big Spring and Taylor, and moved to Rockport in 1972.

She graduated from Texas Womens University and the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston. She had been medical director for the Gonzales Warm Springs Foundation and the Caruth Rehabilitation Center in Dallas.

In 1963, she received the Handicapped Texan of the Year award from Gov. John Connally; Physician o of the Year award from the Texas Rehabilitation Association; and a citation for meritorious service from the President's Committee on the Employment of the Handicapped.

She was a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Texas Medical Association, Dallas Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.

She is survived by two sisters, Kathryn Mitchell of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Barbara Hannon of Taylor.
