William Trausdale Kirkpatrick was born 12 April 1878 in Jackson, Johnson County, Missouri. He married about 1910 in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, to Bessie Tone Finney, daughter of Charles and Sarah Elizabeth (Royse) Finney. She was born 21 January 1880 in Republican City, Harlan County, Nebraska and died in November 1970 in San Leandro, Alameda County, California. William studied at the University of Nebraska and later moved to California in 1918. He lived and worked as a teacher in Oakland, California until his death 10 April 1951.
