Miss Hicks, 40 years Old and With a Bank Accounts [Account], the Woman in the Case. Special to the Journal. Milwaukee, June 30--Clarence Clason, a well-known real estate man, is charged by his wife with having eloped with Miss Ella M. Hicks, a school teacher. He disappeared from his home about four weeks ago. At the same time Miss Hicks, who was employed in the Second district school, left. Her resignation came from the Great Northern hotel, Chicago, and was dated June 2. Mr. Clason is about 35 years of age, and his wife is a daughter of Joseph Fixter, a retired capitalist. Mrs. Clason discovered her husband's intentions about a week ago by opening a letter which came to their home. Miss Hicks is a woman about 40 years of age and had a book bank account, which she is said to have taken with her.

On the 1910 U. S. Census of Sioux Falls, Minnehaha Co., South Dakota, Clarence C., Ella H., and Frederick C. Clason appear as roomers in the household of Oscar Granblaten. Clarence is 43, married 10 years, born in South Dakota, and is a merchant/tailor. Ella H. is 41, married 10 years, mother of one with one living. Clarence and Ella state this is their first marriage. Frederick C. is 5 years old, born in South Dakota.
