Clark Walden Scoles

Obituary in Nashua Reporter ,23 December 1970: Clark Scoles Mourned. Funeral services were held at Galva at 10 a.m. Saturday for Clerk (Knipp) Scoles, 60, who died at 1 p.m. Wednesday at a Sioux City hospital of injuries sustained in an accident at 11 a.m. that day. Clark had been taking inventory in his lumber yard when he slipped on a catwalk and plunged backward through the railing to the ground. Services were held at the Methodist church in Galva with burial in Sanborn. Survivors include his wife, the former Lucille Becker of Nashua, two sons and three daughters. Clark was raised in Nashua, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Scoles and graduated from Nashua high school where he was a star in three sports in 1927. He worked for the Anderson Lumber company as an employee and later as a manager. The family moved to Sanborn from Nashua where he managed an Anderson yard. Later he purchased an independent yard at Galva.
