Grief stricken relatives and friends assembled at the Hill Funeral Home in Houston at four o'clock Monday afternoon to pay final loving tribute to Mrs. Lucy Aycock Kimbrough, wife of J I Kimbrough, who died Sunday night in the Houston Hospital where she had been taken that morning. The services were conducted by the Rev. E C Brasington, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, the Rev. D D Satterwhite, pastor of the Houston Baptist Church, and the Rev. W C McCay, pastor of the Houston Methodist Church. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mrs. Kimbrough, who had been in failing health for the past several years, had been seriously ill for the past four weeks. When her condition became critical Sunday she was taken to the Houston Hospital. Mrs. Kimbrough, who was 71, formerly lived at Houlka but had made her home here for the past few years. Although failing health had kept her at home the greater part of the time, her sweet disposition had endeared her to all with whom she came in contact. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a member of the Houlka Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she leaves four sons, J D Kimbrough of Ridgley, Tenn., J W Kimbrough of Blytheville, Ark., W B Kimbrough of Houston, and Earl J Kimbrough; two daughters, Mrs. H A Whiteside Sr., of St Louis, and Miss Johnnie Kimbrough; four sisters and three brothers.
