Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, April 5, 1998, page 10A, Col. 2: Doris Mondy, 62, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, April 23, 1998, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Mrs. Mondy was born Dec. 27, 1935, at Kime, Mo. She was a lifelong resident of Butler County. She was a social worker for the Missouri Division of Family Services. She was of the Baptist faith. On Dec. 27, 1953, at Broseley, she married Jay Mondy. He survives. also surviving are two sons, Kerry Mondy of Licking and Derek Monday of Wappapello; one daughter, Charisse Dunn of Poplar Bluff; one grandchildren; one brother, Hubert Layton; and one sister, Berniece Tomerlin of Poplar Bluff. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel with J. L. Mondy and Bob Sifford officiating. Burial will be at the Brown Chapel Cemetery.
