Willard Eugene "Gene" Kirkpatrick

Willard Eugene "Gene" Kirkpatrick was born 6 May 1928 in St. Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri. Gene married in 1963 in St. Louis to Wilma Joyce Holland. There were two (2) children born of the marriage. Gene had been married a few times before and raised four (4) step-children as his own, though not formally adopted. They are: Gary Kirkpatrick, Beverly Kirkpatrick, Thomas Kirkpatrick, and Dwaine Kirkpatrick.
Gene was employed as a Professional Truck Driver and retired after 46 years of driving coast-to-coast. He was noted by the Teamsters Union as having over 1,000,000 miles driven without accident or safety violations, quite a notable record.
As of November 2003, Gene resides in Greenville, Wayne County, Missouri and appeared to be very energetic and very personable. He is well thought of in his home community.
Wayne County Journal-Banner, Piedmont, Missouri, March 21, 2013: Willard Eugene “Gene” Kirkpatrick, 84, of Greenville, Mo., died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Greenville Health Care in Greenville, Mo. He was born May 6, 1928, to Willard Eugene Kirkpatrick Sr. and Hilda Paulk Kirkpatrick in Greenville, Mo. Gene attended school in the Kime one-room schoolhouse, and grew up in the Greenville and Kime areas of Wayne County. In his adulthood, he made his home in St. Louis. He fulfilled his childhood dream of becoming a truck driver, and he had worked for Middle West Freightways, and later, Jones Truck Lines. Upon retirement, he returned home to spend his time near the waterways of Wayne County. Gene also enjoyed riding motorcycles, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Gene was a Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his good friend of 15 years, Irma Clark of Greenville; three sons, Frankie, Gary, and Kevin; four daughters, Jeanna, Beverly, Jenny, Shelly; and one granddaughter. Visitation was held Wednesday, March 20, at Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville, and services followed. Pastor James Gray ministered to the family. Burial was in New Prospect Cemetery in Silva.
