Coleman Bradford Bennett

On the 1930 U. S. Census of Logan, Wayne Co., Missouri, Calmon Bennett appears with his wife Louisa and children Alvin, Glenn, Newt, Homer, Violet, Maynard and Wayne. Calmon is a farmer and his sons Alvin, Glenn and Newt are farm laborers. Calmon was 22 when he married and Louisa was 15. They were married about 1899. This census states Alvin, Glenn and Newt were born in Oklahoma. The 1920 Census showed Missouri for their place of birth.
Daily American Republic, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, August 6, 1964, Page 6, Col. 2: Coleman Bennett, Aged 87, Dies Services Friday. Coleman Bradford Bennett, 87, died Aug. 4 at the Bond Nursing Home in Lutesville, Mo. A retired blacksmith, Mr. Bennett was born at Silva, Mo., Nov. 1, 1876, and lived all his life in Wayne County. He was married to Louisa Viola Kirkpatrick on Nov. 26, 1899. She died in 1959. He leaves the following children: Clarence Bennett, Glenn Bennett and Homer Bennett all of Greenville; Maynard Bennett of Weatherford, Tex.; Alton Bennett of Bloomsdale, Mo., William Bennett of Lowndes, Mo., Mrs. Gusta Mae Bennett of Lodi, Mo., Mrs. Violet Williams of Greenville; 27 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church near Greenville with the Rev. I. A. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Gish Funeral Home of Piedmont is in charge.
