Telegraph Herald, Dubuque, Iowa, May 27, 2010: James J. Ludwig, 49, of 1263 Prairie du Chien Drive, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at home. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 28. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, New Melleray. He was born on Aug. 22, 1960, in Dubuque, son of Orville S. and Marguerite F. (Stoffel) Ludwig. He was a graduate of Stephen Hempstead High School, Class of 1977. He then earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dubuque. Jim was employed as a laboratory technician at Prairie Farms Dairy (formerly Swiss Valley) in Dubuque. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. Jim enjoyed traveling, reading and working on the computer. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Surviving are his father, Orville S. Ludwig, of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a sister, Susan M. (Mike) Brothers, of Dubuque; five brothers, William F. Ludwig, of Millersburg, Iowa, John G. Ludwig, of Dubuque, Timothy F. (Jodi) Ludwig, of Peosta, Iowa, Thomas I. Ludwig, of Dubuque, and Peter P. Ludwig, of Round Lake, Ill.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; and his grandparents. A James J. Ludwig Memorial Fund has been established.
