Florence May Hill

Obituary provided by Grant County Wisconsin Genealogical Society: 1926. Mrs. Florence Hill Callow, passed away at Stevens Point Sanitarium, where she had been for two years making the bravest most determined fight to win [unknown] and health. Death claimed her Sunday, April 25th. She was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will C. Hill of this city. She passed her girlhood days in Platteville and was graduated from the Normal. Later attended the university. She was united in marriage to Curtis Callow. Their friendship which later resulted in their marriage was formed while both were students at the Normal. Their future was so promising,a happy home and surrounded by loyal friends. Their happiness was first broken when she was stricken and forced to leave the home and seek restoration of her health. For the sake of her family she made a hard fight. When she found that she must go her only thought was the welfare of her loved onces. Her beautiful character was evident in life. The body was taken to Waukesha Monday for a short time and brought to the Hill home Tuesday, where funeral services were conducted by her pastor of Waukesha and Rev. Campbell of Platteville Wednesday afternoon. Six friends from Waukesha acted as pall bearers. She is survived by her husband and son Billy, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hill, brothers Charles and Fred, sisters Ruth and Jane.
