Daily Gate City, Keokuk, Iowa, Monday, April 25, 2005: July 7, 1936 -April 23, 2005, Floris--- Annette L. Benedict, 68, of Floris, died on April 23, 2005 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center. She was born on July 7, 1936, in Keokuk, the daughter of Arthur and Florence Johnson Heston. She married Eugene Benedict on Oct. 16, 1954, in Des Moines. He survives. She was raised and educated in Keokuk, attending Keokuk High School. She had lived in the Milton, Floris and Eldon areas for the last 30 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Fairfield. Additional survivors include: three sons Paul of Kalona, John of St. Anthony and Tim of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Michelle Westra, and Allen and Sidney Benedict; a sister, Doris Trout of Victor; and a brother, Fred Heston of Nashville, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Montrose Cemetery, with the Rev. Harry Miller officiating. In honoring her wishes, her casket will be closed. Visitation is today at the Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
