Kelley, Dorothy J. (Kirkpatrick) age 67, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 13, 2007 surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's home in Coon Rapids, MN. Born September 18, 1939 in Des Moines, IA the daughter of Charles A. and Dorothy E. McGann Kirkpatrick. Visitation services to be held at Cedar Memorial in Cedar Rapids, IA on Tuesday, January 16 from 5 to 7 pm and Wednesday, January 17 at 10 am until services begin at the Chapel of Memories at Cedar Memorial at 11am. Pastor Duane Laugerman officiating. Dorothy was a 1957 graduate of Franklin High School, and graduated cum laude in 1961 from Coe College. Upon graduation, she taught at St. Pius Catholic School in Cedar Rapids, at Wilton Junction, and Marquette Catholic Schools in southeastern Iowa. In 1986 she took a position at the University of Iowa in Iowa City as an administrative assistant for the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science. In July 2005 she retired and moved to Coon Rapids, MN to help home educate her three grandchildren. Survivors include daughter Susan (Patrick) Perkins, son James (Michelle) Kelley, former husband Charles E. Kelley, grandchildren Joshua, Camille and Aleah Perkins, brothers Charles (Jolene) Kirkpatrick, William (Marjory) Kirkpatrick and David (Kathy) Kirkpatrick, and sister Ellen (Steven) Amsden. Preceding her in death was her father Charles Albert Kirkpatrick Jr. and mother Dorothy Ellen McGann Kirkpatrick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Fellowship Church in Brooklyn Park, MN for the benefit of building a gym floor.
