Burlington Hawk Eye, Burlington, Iowa, Sunday, March 10, 1985, Page 23, Col. 4: Myrtle A. Wayland, 84, of Ft. Madison Nursing Care Center, died Friday evening Mar. 8 at the care center. She was born May 21*, 1900, in LaPlata, Mo. to Elijah and Leona Tate. She married G. Lee Wayland on Feb. 2, 1928 in Carthage, Ill. She retired as a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Women of the Moose, Doris Fredrick Circle of the King's Daughters, and of the American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving: one daughter, Helen Lee King, Ft. Madison, two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, St. Marys Catholic Church, Ft. Madison. Father Robert McAleer; Soldiers Circle Oakland Cemetery, Ft. Madison. A memorial has been established to St. Mary's Parish Hall.
