Review Atlas, Monmouth, Warren Co., Illinois, November 12, 1957: Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Corman Memorial Home in Roseville for Irwin Bliss Davis, who died Friday, November 8 in Phoenix, Ariz. The Rev. John parker of the Roseville Baptist church was in charge. Mrs. Beulah Parks sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Mrs. Herman Stevie was organist. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Howard Bacon, Mrs. Reah Beasley and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Adkisson. Burial was in Roseville cemetery. Pallbearers were Howard Bacon, Harlan and Harry Monroe, Harold Welch, Tom and James Bride. Mr. Davis was born March 26, 1894 in Pt. Pleasant township, the son of Charles W. and Nettie Bliss Davis. He had lived his entire lifetime in and around Roseville but had wintered in the west since 1925 as he had both asthma and arthritis. Death, however, was caused by a heart attack. He was a member of the Roseville Baptist church and the Roseville post of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, the former Agnes Taylor to whom he was married February 19, 1919 at Clinton, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Thompson of Monmouth, a son, Keith Davis of Roseville, two grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Frank Kirkpatrick of Roseville, and a brother, Edgar Davis of Roseville, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Military rites were conducted at the grave.
