Robert Charles Taylor was born 20 January 1919. He married on 2 November 1940 to Georgia Bernadine Guy who was born 19 June 1918. They were subsequently divorced. He later married on 23 October 1948 to Virginia Bowles who was born 30 March 1925.

There were three (3) children born of the second marriage.

Chicago Tribune, Chicago, Illinois, November 14, 2010: Robert C. Taylor, 91, of Wheaton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010 at Wynscape Nursing Home in Wheaton. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Jessie Taylor and his sister Ruth Russell. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia (nee Bowles) of Wheaton, sons Greg (Cathy) of Wellborn, TX; Jeff of Keller, TX; and Brad (Kathy) of Wheaton; and granddaughters Katie, Jessie, Abby (Luke) Hatteberg, Amy, Angela and Anna. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 N. West Street, in Wheaton.
