Research Notes on Ancestors of John Depue, son of Benjamin Depue by Eva Duke: He held the rank of Captain in the New York miltia and a judge of the court of Common pleas. He settled in Mumbacchus. In 1703 the residents of Mumbacchus drafted a petition and renamed the township to rochester. He was elected as one of the first trustees of Rochester. He first married Petronella Sleght, then Antje Horsi (Anna Hussey) having sixteen children.
