Hunt: When Jonathan Hunt applied for a pension on Nov 10, 1833, Abel Hunt, brother of Jonathan Hunt, testifies that he lived in Rowan Co., NC and recollects his brother Jonathan who with himself lived with their father Daniel Hunt, serving as a soldier at various times, he himself did not serve being then about 16 and now 69.

War veteran signed statement before a JP Nov 18, 1833 in Barron County KY ********************************************************************** ************ War Department Pension Office(Gen. Service Administration-Nat'l Archives and Record Service: Receipt # 44053 Date 3-30-68 Searcher ocj Jo. Filre description: Jonathan Hunt-S18048 pw wn. Jonathan served and was discharged several times, 1779-80-81 as was the custom then. ********************************************************************** ************* Jonathan Hunt appeared before the Barron Co. Court in KY. on the 17th of July 1833 an under oath said he entered the service as a Private Militia Man in 1781 under Capt. robertson's Company in rowan County NC. General Rutherford commander. Went to relief of Wilmington NC and was discharged at NorthEast River 15 miles (hard to read) from Wilmington. discharge signed by Gen. Rutherford. ********************************************************************** ************* He also had duty in 1779-80 in Capt. Bullins Company. Entered service at Rowan Co. NC and was discharged 12 miles from from charlotte Courthouse, Mecklenberg Co., NC Discharge signed by Colonel Francis Locke ********************************************************************** ************** Jonathan appeared before the JP at the Barron Co., Courthouse KY on 17 July 1833 to register for War Pension under oath-The act of Congress passed 6-7-1832 for Soldiers's Pensions. He was certified April 3 1834 for $24.44 pension. ( No indication whether this was a one time payment or per mo. or per year.) ********************************************************************** ************** Moved to Morgan County MO in Feb 1842 and swore testimony at County Court of Morgan Co., MO city of Versailles on the 14th day of Nov. 1842. Hunt great grandson of Jonathan and Aisley of Warrensburg, states that his great grandfather Jonathan Hunt was a resident of Buncombe County and that there were nine children born, the second of whom was WILLIAM, the subject's grandfather was born March 8, 1789 and died May 4, 1867. ********************************************************************** ********************************** Have land and deed records from Randolph County and Huntsville that tie Petr Culp and the Hunts, William Bailey together.
