The petition of Andrew Wedge of Barton, Yeoman, of the late Incorporated Militia, humbly sheweth: that your petitioner was born in New Jersey but has residen in this province from his infancy and is 22 years of age and that he did his duty in defence of the provience during the late war (1812) as will appear by the accompanying certificate. That being desirous of settling and improving the Reserve lot no. 9 in the 7th concession of Glanford he humbly prays that your excellency would pleased to grant him a lease thereof under the usual regulations and he respectully names his father John Wedge of Barton, yeoman, as a surety for the due payment of the rent.
