From the Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey: She applied for a pension, as widow of a Revolutionary soldier, at New Brunswick, N. J., 8 Nov. 1837, and Margaret (Inslee) Coddington (1766-1850), widow of Robert Coddington (1760-1833), of Woodbridge, N. J., swore that she had known Catherine (Low) Clarkson all her life, and that the facts stated by Catherine in her pension application were true. Pension was granted 27 July 1839 (GMNJ, 3:133; Pension Record W-448, National Archives, Washington, D. C.: William S. Stryker, Official Register of the Officers and Men of N. J. in the Revolutionary War, 1872, pp. 168, 541). Catherine (Low) Clarkson d. at Woodbridge, and she and her husband are bur. in Woodbridge Presbyterian cemetery.
