The 1820 Census listed an Elias Depuy of Lysander, NY, with one male 10-16 and two 16-26; one female 10-16, two 26-45, and one over 45.
Early Deeds of Lysander: In 1827, E. Depuy sold portion of Lot 90 to James B. Depuy
"Historical Review of the Town of Lysander;" L. Pearl Palmer: Pg 72 - On January 11, 1826, the first regular baptist Society in Lysander was organized and officially recorded in the clerk's office as 24 March 1826. On 15 February 1829, it was decided to build a meeting house 36 X 48 feet. A lot was purchased of Elias Depuy, who was hired to build the structure for $1,050, corn or wheat to be received in payment of subscriptions of the same.
From Allyson Wood: Elias starts out buying property in Onondaga County New York selling lot 90 in Lysander to J. B. Dupuy (or Depuy) in 1827. Later he lists his wife, Judith, with him when he sells to 1st Bap. So. of Lysander et al lot 90 in Lysander. The deed is listed in book PP on page 385. Also more are listed in the Index to Deeds, Grantors - Onondaga County, NY from 1794 to 1870.
Elias and John Horace move to the town of West Buffalo. Together they buy and sell property there. The first deed available shows them selling property on March 6, 1838 and also on April 3 1838 (LDS Film #909433 in SLC).
